O jornalista Paulo Vinicius Coelho (PVC) fez duras cr\u00edticas \u00e0 estrat\u00e9gia adotada pelo Botafogo para a temporada de 2025. Durante sua participa\u00e7\u00e3o no programa “Flow Sport Club”, ele questionou as decis\u00f5es do propriet\u00e1rio John Textor, principalmente em rela\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 escolha de priorizar competi\u00e7\u00f5es que come\u00e7am apenas a partir de mar\u00e7o, como o Campeonato Brasileiro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PVC ironizou a ideia de “Botafogo Way”, promovida por Textor, e afirmou que a postura do empres\u00e1rio n\u00e3o condiz com uma gest\u00e3o eficiente. “Quando o Textor fala ‘Botafogo Way’, \u00e9 uma bobagem. Ele est\u00e1 querendo enganar quem?”, disparou o jornalista. Ele tamb\u00e9m lembrou as in\u00fameras tentativas frustradas do clube em contratar um novo t\u00e9cnico, citando nomes como Andr\u00e9 Jardine, Roberto Mancini, Rafa Ben\u00edtez, Tite e Tata Martino.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outro ponto criticado pelo comentarista foi a decis\u00e3o do Botafogo de n\u00e3o disputar o Campeonato Carioca com for\u00e7a m\u00e1xima. PVC destacou que essa escolha pode ter consequ\u00eancias negativas, j\u00e1 que nos \u00faltimos dez Campeonatos Brasileiros, quatro foram vencidos por clubes que tamb\u00e9m conquistaram seus respectivos Estaduais. Ele citou a for\u00e7a dessas competi\u00e7\u00f5es ao mencionar o Corinthians, que vem registrando um recorde de p\u00fablico com 28 jogos consecutivos recebendo mais de 40 mil torcedores. Segundo ele, a paix\u00e3o da torcida independe do torneio disputado e um clube do porte do Botafogo n\u00e3o pode ignorar esse fator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Para o jornalista, a identidade do Botafogo precisa ser preservada e valorizada. Ele criticou o fato de o time estar jogando para p\u00fablicos reduzidos, enfatizando que a marca do clube exige est\u00e1dios cheios. “A marca Botafogo n\u00e3o pode jogar para 5 ou 8 mil pessoas.
